Ng’ona Lodge is an oasis in the African bush. It is in a tranquil environment on the banks of the Shire River which flows out of Lake Malawi, south to join the Zambezi River in Mozambique. The lodge is approximately 70 kilometres south west of Blantyre.
Enjoy the privacy of exclusive self contained chalets with shaded verandahs for ultimate relaxation. Our four chalets also include en-suite facilities. In addition, we now have 2 double rooms with air-conditioning on the river’s edge. en-suite and offering beautiful views from private verandahs. We also have a campsite with BBQ amenities.
Within Ng’ona Lodge, we also house our own restaurant in a large thatched open sided building, elevated from the pool and the river. We also have a well stocked bar for guests and day visitors.
We are so perfectly placed that one of Malawi’s biggest and best game reserves is right on our doorstep. Guests can visit Majete Game Reserve, only one and a half kilometres away during their stay. We can arrange all your activities for you.
Meet Ruari Maclean, who taught Art and Design in Blantyre for 33 years before retiring in 2020. Ruari has established a small pottery studio at Ng’ona Lodge. Pay him a visit and get involved.
